Oceanfront rooms provide stunning views and easy access to the beach. The elevators were slow and often out of service, making it a hassle to go up and down. Live music at the restaurant adds a nice vibe. Parking can be tight, especially for larger vehicles.

One elevator was out of service, causing long waits. Room was clean and comfortable, but decor felt dated.

The hotel gives you immediate access to the beach just a few steps away, with plenty of dining options like Ocean Eddie's and Lighthouse Beach Bar & Grille within a short walk, plus you're right next to the Fun Park on Pacific Avenue, making it a fantastic choice for families and anyone who loves a lively atmosphere to explore, and the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay; however, there were a few maintenance issues that needed attention.

The beachfront views at this hotel are stunning, a perfect backdrop for relaxation. The staff exhibited exemplary professionalism and friendliness; they made our family feel welcomed. Check-out faced a minor hiccup with lost keys, but the front desk's patience was commendable. The continental breakfast was excellent, and the location convenient. Our room, while ultimately enjoyable, had cleanliness issues. Trash was found beneath the AC unit, and some sticky areas needed attention. Housekeeping required frequent requests for essentials. There were maintenance concerns: loose floorboards and a balcony needing better drainage. Parking fees were unexpected during our stay. Amenities need an update, especially in the bathrooms. Despite these hiccups, the effort from the staff elevated our experience significantly. Each challenge provided a chance for improvement.

From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in warm hospitality! The view from our balcony was simply breathtaking, and the indoor pool was such a fun escape. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared and the vibe was just perfect for a getaway!

The bathroom was ridiculously cramped, making it tough to move around. Plus, the broken shower curtain rod left water everywhere. It was such a hassle; I couldn't believe a place like this wouldn't have better maintenance. So disappointing!

The indoor pool was a great place for the kids to have fun while we relaxed. Breakfast had plenty of options, and my son loved the waffles!

The room was recently renovated and quite comfortable. The bed was cozy, ensuring a good night's sleep. Temperature control was efficient, keeping the space pleasant. The balcony offered a stunning view of the beach, which was a highlight. the cleanliness left something to be desired—dust and hair were found in several areas, and the bathroom was not as thoroughly cleaned as expected. Maintenance was prompt in fixing the tub knob and TV issues.

Fun activities & rides for the family, largest Ferris wheel. FIREBREW has great food & drinks. Virginia Aquarium impressive. Distinctive lighthouse near historic site. Art show with food & views. Water park for sun fun. Ocean's 14 cocktails are tasty!

Upon checking into the Sandcastle, I was excited to explore our room. The ironing facilities were handy as we wanted to freshen up some clothes after unpacking. I was a bit disappointed to find that the heating in the room wasn't working properly, and we had to rely on extra blankets to stay warm during the chilly nights. We appreciated having air conditioning, especially during the warmer afternoons. The tea and coffee facilities were a nice touch, but I wish there had been a wider selection of teas available. The sitting area in the room was cozy, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. One of the highlights for us was the terrace with garden furniture. We spent many evenings enjoying the sunset and the ocean breeze from there. The free toiletries provided were of good quality, but I would have liked to see more amenities like body lotion or shower caps available. The room had an AM/FM alarm clock, which was convenient for waking up on time for our daily adventures. The flat-screen TV provided entertainment, although the channel selection was a bit limited. I found the laundry service to be efficient, allowing us to quickly freshen up our clothes after a day at the beach. I did notice that some of the towels provided were a bit worn out and could use an upgrade.

We hit up Back Bay Wildlife Refuge for some sick kayaking and hiking. The Labor Day music fest rocked our socks off with all genres. The sun and sand vibes were perfect for chilling. We rented jet skis and paddleboards for rad off-shore adventures, not forgetting the epic zip line at Adventure Park.
One thing we missed was a lit beach bonfire for us young party animals! .

Breakfast was a mix; some loved the waffles, while the offerings were sparse for others. Service varied, with friendly staff but confusing policies—communication could definitely improve. Disturbances from nearby music at night were unexpected. While we encountered some bumps, the location and atmosphere made it worth the trip, and I'd consider returning.

I chose Sandcastle Resort for its convenient location near Virginia Beach's serene shore, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of dining options with its oceanfront setting. The free parking, inner tubes, and sunscreen provided an extra level of comfort and convenience for all guests, making the stay even more enjoyable.

The sand, sun, and activities for kids at any age were fantastic at Virginia Beach. From jet ski to kayak rentals, there was endless fun for the whole family. Exploring the Adventure Park through the sky-high zip line was a thrilling experience!
My wife says that the elevator wait time was too long.

What a lovely stay we had by the beach! The rooms were clean and cozy. We enjoyed the stunning view from our balcony and the warm pool with towels readily available. The hotel's location right in front of the pier was convenient, and we had a blast dining at the fantastic Mexican restaurant on the ground floor twice!
Some vending machines were out of order, and there was a slight smell of marijuana in the hallway.

Outdated room amenities were a slight disappointment.

the beautiful oceanfront view from our room was breathtaking, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. the room was immaculately clean and very comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor sitting space on the 9th floor. the hot breakfast served daily offered a great variety of choices, and we appreciated the availability of hand sanitizer throughout the building. check-in was quick and easy, and the overall experience was fantastic.

the room was spotless! sandcastle resort is right next to everything you'd want to do. the staff were super friendly - especially stephanie - brooke - angie, and sharia. free breakfast had lots of options, and you can get 10% off at oceans 14 restaurant.

I enjoyed the ocean view and live music at the downstairs restaurant. The location was perfect for exploring the area on foot. The indoor pool was a nice bonus. Overall I'd recommend this hotel.
